Yeah, the Emperor from Star Wars....Not defending snow white but the conversation about beauty, could it be possible the evil ones appearance is a facade hiding her actual face. Which would be interesting itself as disney is so afraid of offending people that the evil ones actual face would have to be either a blank slate or a toxic white male.
Not sure of that but it sounds familiar. Alot of fairy tales were quite gruesome.Aren't there versions of Snow White where the evil Queen is using the blood of beautiful young women to actually keep herself from aging? Like she uses dark magic to stave off the process, but it's never permanent, though it slows things down?

It's just human universality...it doesn't really change over the Centuries...the Natural is a strong forceNot sure of that but it sounds familiar. Alot of fairy tales were quite gruesome.
The Queen in Snow White is meant to show the evils of narcissism and pride. Even though she is beautiful and still the second most beautiful to Snow White when Snow comes of age, she gets jealous of Snow White and so has her killed by the huntsman. Reading wiki, she has the huntsman bring back Snow White's liver and lungs which she later eats (huntsman brings back a wild boar's organs instead) but I think ive heard the organ being a heart as well.
She dies in Grimm from torture, being forced to put on red-hot iron shoes and "dance" until she dies but later stories have her die from anger in seeing Snow White alive and married to the prince at the wedding.
I always found the Disney interpretation to be interesting as well given that the queen purposefully transforms herself into an evil and ugly hag to deliver the poison apple. She also dies in her hag form, falling and getting crushed by a boulder which I thought was interesting since in her vengeance, she made herself far more ugly. (I do think she is originally very beautiful or the narcissism angle wouldnt make sense imo).
Snow White also honestly isnt a good movie to remake in current "woke" Hollywood the more I look into it lol. There are many interpretations delving into agism, women vs women, sexuality, etc which goes against the current "woke" narratives of women supporting women and men being the cause of their strife.
Its honestly a pretty timeless story now that I revisit it and its pretty shocking to think that anyone would call it "outdated" for the modern era.
You can... It'll fail royally, of course but they'll just blame it on systemic this and that rather than crap movie making and poor storytelling. You can't just sawzall it out and expect the rest of the structure to keep standing.
B.O.T.O.X.
Blood Offered To Overlord Xenu.
The 'outdated' stuff is big load-bearing beams in the story framework. You can't just saw all it out and expect the rest of the structure to keep standing.
Yeah; a great many of the "fairy tales" actually involve much crud like that. Nice bedtime stories to scare the living daylights out of your little ones and guarantee they'll need therapy and counselling for decades to come.Aren't there versions of Snow White where the evil Queen is using the blood of beautiful young women to actually keep herself from aging? Dont forget Anderson but yeah, the original Disney model was grab popular European fairy tales and adapt them into animation. They did get alot of flak for making them more "child friendly" by ensuring the characters have a more obvious "happy ending" which resulted in the term "disneyified" to mean toned-down/babied. However, Disney still believed that scaring children was necessary, hence the shocking images in Fantasia or the actual real scares with scary villains and scenes in their movies that have a ton of weight (like Bambi's mom dying). Fairy tales were meant to enforce morals and teach children things like dont hang out with strangers (Red Riding hood), dont just take things from strangers (snow white), dont be greedy (Hansel and Gretel), etc. From your list, the only ones that havent been Disneyfied are Hansel and Gretel, Little Red, and Rumpel iirc. The Brothers Grimm (die Brüder Grimm or die Gebrüder Grimm), Jacob (1785–1863) and Wilhelm (1786–1859), were German academics, philologists, cultural researchers, lexicographers, and authors who together collected and published folklore. The brothers are among the best-known storytellers of folk tales, popularizing stories such as "Cinderella" ("Aschenputtel"), "The Frog Prince" ("Der Froschkönig"), "Hansel and Gretel" ("Hänsel und Gretel"), "Little Red Riding Hood" ("Rotkäppchen"), "Rapunzel", "Rumpelstiltskin" ("Rumpelstilzchen"), "Sleeping Beauty" ("Dornröschen"), and "Snow White" ("Schneewittchen"). Their first collection of folk tales, Children's and Household Tales (Kinder- und Hausmärchen), began publication in 1812.
How many Disney movies can you count in there?
What Disney teaches now in their "fairy tales" isn't moral...Dont forget Anderson but yeah, the original Disney model was grab popular European fairy tales and adapt them into animation. I do think modern Disney has toned down the scares way too much in their movies though. Their villains are much more cerebral rather than scary (Gothel from Tangled is more abuse and toxic than scary) now.
