Holiday Special Lightsaber

Howdy, everyone. I'm new here and to building in general but not Star Wars. I have an itch, however, to do my first lightsaber build, and I am thinking of trying to build Luke's holiday special lightsaber. I have a good line on the correct graflight 3 battery flash, but I wanted to ask the community if you all
tnought this was a good first build for a rookie. Do I need a lot of specialized equipment? Is it generally a difficult saber to start with? Are there any tutorials out there for a dummy like me?

Kurtboy, what did you end up using for the length? Would a 2 cell be closer to the right size than the 3?

225mm from base to end of black plastic at the top.

If if you ever want to sell yours, Kurtyboy, I would sure be interested in purchasing. Looks better than the one Mark Hamill was holding, IMO.
