HIC Side Panel Discovery

I didn't see the thread. I keep looking instead of searching and getting sidetracked...

Ooh!

Something shiny!

+1 for Philip!

Another "wow" and "thank you" from me! It's awesome that this was discovered, but so much more awesome that it was shared!

Never had the time to fully comment on this...
But the amount of research and team work that went into this was incredible to see from the outside..

Prob one of, if not the best Discovery in a very, very, long time.

Hats off to all involved.

Is their a conatct person to buy a set of the side panels? I would love to add a more accurate set to my HIC build.

Thanks

Hi, newbie here, sorry my first post is a necro-post but I found this thread as I've been doing research for my own carbonite block projects, and wanted to share something I noticed. I watched ESB the other day and, thanks to this thread, the panels were poking out like a sorethumb in the Falcon's cockpit when they're fleeing Cloud City. :D

Really great thread, btw.

Edit: Just saw a mention of their use in the Falcon in a junkyard thread, sorry if this was redundant.

Yup, they're all over the Falcon cockpit. Even in the forward view. Other carbonite greeblies around too such as the T's.

Okay...I searched the forum(s) & can't find what seems like a useful bit o' info about these panels...

What's the part number for the original Volvo panels?

Does anyone know? :)

{My apologies for resurrecting an old thread but this seemed the most appropriate place to ask & my searches haven't turned up anything ...}

Thanks for the response & the photo. Every little bit is helpful, (& I'm really impressed that the original part was located...).

I'm perpetually broke, (I usually have one project at a time that I can afford to sink cash into & outside of that all the cash goes toward spoiling my children... ;) ), so I'm trying to find an affordable panel/bezel to start from - no offense intended to the folks selling/molding/casting them. :)

So far as I know, the actual black part used doesn't have a separate part number on it. The entire panel assembly has several part numbers on it, though I don't know if any of them is for the overall panel.
