HIC Build

I started collecting SW items many years ago and took a bit of a break (got married and had kids so priorities changed). I've always wanted a HIC. Definitely been one of my goals. A few months ago, it was time to make this a reality. I've been using many of Zenix's parts which I've found to be of great quality, reliable timelines and great communication. I appreciate all of the other HIC pioneers who have paved the way and provided me with many tips and techniques. I've enjoyed reading your threads. I'll keep you posted as I progress along this journey.

Yeah, it's coming along (y) Love the texture that the wood glue does with multiple layers. Smoothing out the joints with some wood putty.

This is also a bucket list item for me to build, but know nothing about where to start. How do I get started with Zenix? Thanks!

You’re welcome!
The HIC Han Solo in carbonite Facebook group has a lot of great info too!
Todd, zenix, is on there too, along with some other guys that can supply you with what you need to get started!

I've been slacking in the update department. Here's some additional pics. Looks like some good questions above that have been answered. Smoothed out the transition from Han to the carbonite. Also added a coat of primer. Started prepping the back for the addition of a wall mounted TV bracket and it helped strengthen the frame.

Very nice! In the same boat as you. I started buying parts for an HIC 10 years ago. They are all in storage. I'm hoping to start (finally) building this fall.

Added some Bondo to help cover the seams of the Han cast. Added some wood to cover up the holes and allow the panels to fasten to. Finishing up the top and bottom even though no one will probably ever see those parts when it's on display, but I figured it would be a nice touch....

Looks great! You're making me want to give it a try -but I don't have nearly the space for such a big piece.

Guess I'll live vicariously through you... :)
