Hi im new here - Scratch built Nova class starship, (pic heavy)

Hello everybody, I just recently joined the RPF after admiring all the insane work that everybody creates here. I have been creating models for years out of random materials, junk, paper ect. I really enjoy reading about the different techniques and tricks that people use when building, learn a lot!

Anyway, here is my attempt at a scratch built Nova class starship. It's one of my favorite Startrek ships, and always wanted to have a hand held illuminated Nova....... So I built one. Still needs a little work, weathering, damage ect. I call it the USS Atlas NCC- 75114 Hope you like.

Thanks for all the welcoming comments..... Moongrim, I actually sculped the ship out of pink insulation foam, covered it with foil, and then fiberglassed it. Mixed in a little more catalyst than i prob should have..... created a lot of heat and warped the original form. oh well, haha.

That is awesome scratchbuilding, Piggler - especially the foam sculpting. I've always wanted to try fiberglassing but I'm scared about the itch from fiberglass barbs. Welcome aboard! : )

Thanks again for all the feed back and welcoming comments. it's appreciated. As for the ship, I was originally going for a clean, no blemish type look...... Then a little mishap happened with some old clear coat.....( avert your eyes children!) ........ now its going to have a more weathered apperance......
