Hey look, another Iron Man costuming thread...REALLY?

I was trying to bump all the IM costuming threads and just got tired of them all. Isn't there another movie that we can work on?

I was thinking about this recently and what it means to the future of the RPF.

We are basically dependent on movies for our hobby. Now that SW is drying up (the reason I came here), I guess we need movies like Ironman to keep the hobby and the RPF chugging along.

We've made a decade as a forum and how many times can we talk about the tiny, tiny details of the Vader Helmet, or what distinguishes the ESB Stormtrooper helmet from ROTJ.

As more and more movies digitize everything, including the props, it's going to be interesting to watch the RPF and the hobby evolve. I for one can't wait to see digital props made into the real deal. Now that is going to take some talent.

Until then Ironman is keeping us alive.

More power to them. Whatever floats your boat.

What we need is people who participate more in the hobby forums not the OT forum?

So get out of here and go build something.

This is what people are currently making and interested in so of course there will be several topics about Iron Man costuming. Bumping all the topics makes no sense, even if its to show how many there are, who cares? Now you've bumped all the topics you're tired of seeing to the top of the first page instead of letting other different topics be shown there. :thumbsup

People will make what they want to make. There is no need to toss all their "I'm making this" topics into a single thread as they all have just as much right to show off their work in individual topics as someone posting something from District 9, Firefly, Lord of the Rings, etc.

Indiana... let it go.

What is happening, is if it is starting to annoy you, you need to take a break from the place. Happened to me at IndyGear. I could only take so much stitch counting, till I thought my head would explode. I loved the place, and most of the people, but needed to back out for awhile.

Hey look, yet another thread complaining about the amount of Iron Man threads! What is this, three in two weeks? I'd rather see costuming threads, IM or not...

Hey look, another whining thread about Iron Man costume interest...REALLY
:lol

Shocker with a new movie out and all - much rather see page after page about vader lens colors...
:cool

(not really picking on ya, just thought it was funny since there has been more then one of these threads as well)

get over it.

No. I dont want to. I want to whine and complain and let everyone know how cool I am because I started a hate thread. :)

Actually I don't really mind all the Iron Man love. It's much better than the Dr. Who threads. :lol

Well in the last month look at how much publicity Pep is getting. If it wasn't for those IM threads I wouldn't be dabbling with Pep to work on Alice In Wonderland armor. I am actually enjoying Pep and gearing up for other projects.

So in the end IM threads are plentiful and bountiful but also providing crossover into new software, pictures of purdy girls, and ugly dudes!

it's just hot now...just type in Avi Arad and see what the next few year holds for costuming...

The Avengers (2012) (announced) (executive producer)
Ant-Man (2012) (announced) (executive producer)
X-Men Origins: Magneto (2012) (announced) (producer)
Doctor Strange (2012) (announced) (executive producer)
Nick Fury (2012) (announced) (producer)
The Hands of Shang-Chi (2011) (announced) (producer)
Luke Cage (2011) (announced) (executive producer)
Deathlok (2011) (announced) (producer)
Untitled Spider-Man Reboot (2012) (pre-production) (producer)

We just need a sub-forum for the pep stuff to get it out of the traditional builds

I like seeing the passion. Don't really care what it's for. I have my interests, other memebers have theirs.

It's amazing what concessions people will make in this area when it's a topic they approve of. :lol

And interest is always cyclical. We're all a brewing pot of interest, and they will be piqued when the new is introduced. ("New Tron movie? Oh, yeah, that's right, I love Tron!")

Just when I was goin to change the head on my avatar from predator to Iron man, I find out he's so last month. :( I really don't care what people post as long as they have a passion for it. Having said that, if I see someone start a post about a "sex and the city" prop that they're working on.....I just might leave!

Sure we could always work on Star Wars....:lol

I'm glad to see another strong interest group....sort of like the Aliens group...keeps things interesting.
