hey, is there anything valuable in this mess?

take the animals with you! this is like a bad disney movie

hey if a toaster, vacuum, alarm clock and ceiling fan can get to Mars, you can do anything
Yeah! Definitely have to go. It may be a hassle but thd9791 has a good point! Do every crazy thing you can do or see along the trip, grab/ pack up what you are able at the storage then haul-ass back home. It will be like a hybrid reality race show mixed with Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Hey guys,
quick update on this, I just came back from a week end to my friends' house there and filled my small car with as much junk as possible! This was definitely worse than what the photos were showing. There was a room with a whole wall full of old radios that I wasn't able to take with me. There was also 4 other small sheds outside that were completely full of things, he was really a crazy crazy hoarder, never seen that before! I'll have to empty the car tomorow and slowly start to go through all of that mess when I have time!
I definitely brought back a crazy lot of small electronic parts, and focused on the electronic equipment with dials on them as I couldn't take everything. I definitely took quite a few cool parts for my other passion, electric guitars building, but I'm hoping there will be a few cool things for props as well!

In any case, this was my first week end or holliday in 3 full years and it was definitely a nice break despite the stress of the road :)
will show a few photos when possible, but this is done! :)

Very cool! Glad it worked out such that you snagged a few choice items. I bet you’ll find a few diamond goodies in what you brought back. Looking forward to pics as you sort through it all. Be careful or you may be in for another visit haha!

Hey there,
alright, emptied the car onto tables this morning!
first table is full of small electronics components:

second table is full of all the equipment I chose:

a cool sort of rivet gun, extremely heavy!

connectors, including probably quite a few amphenols:

cheers

Love the scopes and misc meters! You did a great job picking out some good stuff. What’s that device on the far right, 2nd table that looks like a geiger-counter doohickey? Wishing you fun figuring this all out!

thank you :)
the grey device on the far right is a radio I think, it's metal, very cool one :) will sort through all that when I have time and do some research on individual pieces :)

Alright, I went through a very few things tonight :)
first, funnily enough, I swear it is the first box I emptied on my workbench, some Scout trooper transitors to see if I found accurate ones, and I look at the bottom of the box and see our favorite heros! fun stuff! I know Han Solo would say, "don't tell me the odds", but seriously, what are the odds??

alright, so, so far this is all the transistors that I'm putting asside, believe me, there are a lot of those, including boxes of NOS ones that I could probably sell on ebay as those are somewhat valuable:

and, I was very happy to find already 80 screen-accurate transistors with a bevelled base plate around the center part, for my scout trooper blaster project next year! seriously awesome already!

I'm hoping to find more cool stuff! I have boxes of small Obi Wan saber op amps parts to go through, even though I don't expect to find the actual marconi versions in there, but we never know!
