Here are a few more I got of the sword:

I did get a handful of shots of the paintings, but they didn't really turn out due to the massive crowd of people elbowing their way in and out of the booth. At one point I tried to get a better viewing angle by standing on the steps they had setup, but I was promptly 'shot-down' by a booth worker. These are the better shots (unfortunately)...

you know it looks like the spray painted the entire Same and Tsukaito together black, then put the Symbol on... damn wish I go be there. Had not gone since 1980.....

Thank you for the clear pictures! I'm trying to figure in my head how they accomplished the re-wrapping of the handle. I bought a cheap knockoff sword and want to duplicate the prop. It looks as though the leather pieces on each side were not part of the wrap...perhaps glued on before the wrap was applied.

looks like they may have slipped it under the wrap next to it, woudl ahve to see th eotherside to see if they tied the arap off or slipped the wrap under itself, but the leather piece (black side piece) looks like it is slipped under. it is not part of the Practical Plus Katana. and of course the pics posted in the thread are of a Replica of the prop made by the Linderman Group with the wooden blade in the museum Hiro finds it.
