Is this a correct Hensoldt for a Dl-44? Saw it on an auction site ($2,000/ obo)

No, I am not thinking of buying it. Its a nice piece but asking price it too rich for my blood hensoldt.jpg

It is just the dialyt 3x, not the accurate Ziel Dialyt 3x, plus it has the wrong knurling on windage knob...can,t see if the numbers on the dial are present?!

He just messaged me saying he's positive this was used in ROTJ and that I should do some homework. I hope someone doesn't buy it not knowing what it is

I don't know about anyone else, since I'm not the best source of screen used items, but I don't think there were any other uses of the Hensoldt scopes on anything but the DL 44 from ANH. The ROTJ one DEFINITELY didn't have a Hensoldt on it, and the only thing I can think that the seller is thinking of is the scope that was used on the ROTJ Boba Fett EE-3, but I'm like 99.9% positive that isn't a Hensoldt at all (unless I'm wrong in which someone will definitely correct that)

What's that on the back of it near the Bell - that would turn me away from looking immediately.

Not true ;)
there IS a HW used on one of the ROTJ DL44, mostly referred as the "bizarro" blaster. It was used by Han in the deleted endor bunker raid scenes. There is quite a discussion existent about the mount setup and I recreated it with the exceltion of adding the flashhider.

see...here is your homework, but the fact that A HW was used in ROTJ does not make THIS scope THE one...way too less refernce pics to tell anything about the scope details!

Whoever gave you that rude response, let him backup his claim that THIS variation is accurate....I am curious what references the seller can provide, that are yet unknown to the rest of the SW community ;)

The bunker scope, It could even have been resin. :D

But without any proof for ROTJ, it is the wrong one for ANH.

Just the wrong version for SW.

This sounds eerily similar to the person that listed the stepped shroud small B Port version of an MPP flash on eBay a month ago for £2000. I wrote them and offered them £200 for it since I had deduced they clearly must have hit the "0" key one too many times.

Yeah, he seems pretty arrogant or knowingly willing to take advantage of selling stuff to people who don't know any better, Its a nice scope, just not the right one. Im no expert but once a few people chimed in here confirming, I messaged him back. I told him I will definitely take it if he could show me that scope being used by Han Solo in any Star Wars movie. I even said if it is what he says I will give him 2500 for it.

Worst/ best case scenario, he shows us irrefutable proof that it was used in the movie and I send him an envelope with 2500 doll hairs in it (Hope he didn't think I meant dollars.

Someone sold a DEC kit (aluminum/ cast version no base gun) yesterday, all they did was clean up and AB/ blue the parts. Flash hider went for $180, bull barrel $80, Grill $90, Scope Mount $160, Scope $150+. Shocking how crazy things are. DEC's kit is aweomse, just wondering if them people knew that he does runs of them.

Couldn't have put it better myself Tom, good luck. I'm 99% sure he's full of crap, but if he comes up with some proof, consider me sold!
