Hello Everyone, with the recent passing of Sir Sean Connery, I've been wanting to replicate this prop from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, of the framed photo Indy kept at his desk to remember his father. I believe it would be a nice little piece to remember Connery by, although I am having trouble finding the source image used, I originally thought I was just a screen grab from one of the blimp scenes but no luck, I now assume that it is most likely a behind the scenes photo cropped into the frame, I hope that some of you can help in tracking down this image as a way to commemorate Connery and the great many years of acting he gave us.
Sincerely
Dylan Conway

It's an interesting thing figuring out when that was taken.

I cosplay that character and I have a large collection of photos both screen shots and behind-the-scenes shots, and his appearance does change from scene to scene somewhat, mostly in the shape of his tie and hat but also in how his beard is groomed. It's those things that could help pin down the when.

For sure it's not from the Marin motorcycle shoot, where his tie is very droopy and his beard looks completely different.

HIs tie is exceptionally puffed-up and neat in that shot, so that's where I would start. Also his beard is more salt-and-pepper mingled there, while in some scenes it almost looks coloured, where they darkened the mustache and areas on each side and lightened the rest (the motorcycle scene is the clearest example).

About screen shots, as we know he's rarely hatless. He seems to be sitting in a chair with a somewhat high back to it. Do we know what sort of chairs he used during breaks on set?

BTW on breaks he often (usually?) takes off his heavy Harris Tweed jacket, and sometimes also the waistcoat. These items were quite hot.

This seems to be, at quick glance, the closest I have in his overall appearance.

Hello everybody. I greet with pleasure your initiative, Dylan conway. I'm currently trying to do this prop too. I think the image is not the most difficult, since there are images available in the film, and of course, there is the invaluable help of the participants of this forum, which make this hobby so interesting. For me, the most difficult thing is to reproduce (being a pure amateur and not quite an artist) the frame of the picture. Finding the same approximate size, width and wood quality or grain is a bit tricky (if you intend finding one ready made). But then, there are those corner decorations in Art-deco style... This is difficult if you want to achieve some degree of perfection in the closeness.
In relation to what Dr Jones Sr says: I'm not a specialist in this, but I wonder if the picture I attach here was a starting point for the picture we are looking into.
