Help with painting Die Cast

I recently picked up the Jada Batman v Superman Batmobile kit and was pretty impressed with it for the price (20 dollars U.S.).

The kit (hard to call it a model) is 25 pieces but that includes the screws so actual piece number is about 12. The undercarriage and interior are plastic but the body and doors are die cast. It has to be assembled but does include all screws and even a screwdriver. Not many features, but gun cannon swivels and doors open to reveal molded interior. Scale's not given on the box, but I'd compare it to a 1/18 scale hot wheel.

Anyway I'm considering giving it a wash and perhaps some weathering but I've never painted die-cast. I would assume enamel paint, but would rather ask someone with experience. If anyone has time could you recommend what type paint, and any tips would be appreciated.

you can use paint stripper, but make sure only on the metal parts. also oven cleaner works.
you repaint it with whatever you want, and yes the paint on die cast is a type of enamel that has been cooked on.

Strip the paint using paint stripper. Prime and paint the metal parts using car spray cans. I repainted a shado-mobile a while back using auto-paints. As long as you're not heavy handed, they give great results!

I've repainted a few diecasts

I just prime them with either Games Workshop primers or Army painter primers since those are primers intended for white metal miniatures anyway. Then I just paint with the normal acrylics I use

i've repainted a few diecast cars. i've stripped some with paint stripper, but i've also just keyed the surface with sandpaper and painted primer straight onto it.

Vacformed, the info that I've gotten will probably put an end to this project...lol. I thought this kit looks fine as is, but I was hoping to apply a wash and weather. Doing a total strip and repaint is further than I want to go since I'm pretty happy with it as is.

I'm gonna do a little research...I have several sets of the tamiya weathering master powders, I'm curious if I could use these and then apply a sealant. If I find a way to do this that sounds like it may work I'll post pics.

I need to pick one of these up and try it too, as this already has a good base , why not weather with acrylics over this , and add scratches etc with either dry brushing or silver pen
