Help with holes in a silicone mask

I made a first casting of my Red Skull mask that Im doing for SDCC this year, and I cast it out of Dragon skin FX pro. I made the mold out of pottery plaster, so when I put in the face plug, I must have smashed it in there too hard, because when I pulled the mask out, there were a few holes, maybe the size of if you stuck a ball point pen through it. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? I supposed I could just make a small amount, and patch it behind it, but I was wondering if anyone else has ever had the same problem, and what their solution was. Thanks for help in advance!

I think your best bet is to mix up a small amount of the same silicone you used, trying to make it match the color as best as you can. If it's a textured part you can go over it with a stipple sponge to make sure the patched part blends in with the surrounding area. Do you have any pictures of the piece?

Thanks Pitchforknumb, Im new, Im not exactly sure how to post pics up here. I was going to do a build thread but like I said, I dont know how to upload pictures, and everyone has done a red skull already. Mine cant compare to Mr Bungles haha! Ill go home, snap some pics, and figure out how to post em. Thanks for your reply!

I agree, try and match the colour and texture with small a amount of silicone.

After you mix up the same silicone and match the colour, back the hole up with tape or something then spatula in the silicone to fill the hole. Then place Glad wrap (Seran wrap) over it and as the silicone sets puch in any detail with texture pads or scuplture tools. Wait for the silicone to fully cure and remove the plastic.

These patches will adhere enough to not fall off? And, assuming enough skill, you won't be able to tell there was a hole? What if the mask is painted - will that make patches more obvious?

How difficult is it to remove flashing lines from masks made with this stuff? Can they be sanded, or is the material too 'spongy'?

if you made the positive master and the negative mold together you shouldn't cause any holes when you come to cast the plug with the mask. under normal circumstances, it's almost impossible to damage the mask, I assume you making a glove mold as this is a mask you want to wear? The recommendation on here regarding plugging are ok,and do work , but don't really solve your problem . some more detail please as to how you damaged the mask cast
