help on alien tail

right i have nearly finished my ruffkin alien costume

but i am having a few problems

i have a connector on my bum thathat connects to the tail and stays in place with velcro

my problem is i have a rucksack that i have converted into a harness to support the weight of the tail, i have inserted steel rods into the tail to keep a good shape but it keeps on twisting and dragging on the ground

anyone got any ideas

Think I read it somewhere that fishing line is the perfect solution. Tie the line around the tip of your tail and onto either 1 of your spines or around your waist.

i did that, but it still drags

i think i need the fishing wire shorter so its up higher
