I just acquired a set of hard oak grips for my Sidkit Mal

Problem is, I'm a complete novice with wood :love

Can anyone offer advice on what kind of sandpaper I should use, along with decent stainer and sealer for this kind of wood?

Well I guess I'll be off to Google & trial and error then. :rolleyes

I'd just head for B&Q mate. Get some very low grit sand paper say 40 or 80. And look in the wood stain/varnish section. They have all sorts of shades of wood grain. I think you want walnut.

Funny thing is, walnut must be the most popular. Cos twice I went to the local B&Q superstore (i.e the biggest one) and the walnut was all sold out. Plenty of all the others though.
