Couldn't you just go to the hair supply or costume store, buy a wig with long blonde hair, and put it in a bun?

Depends on how good you want it. Right now you can go to a costume shop or any store like Walmart or Kmart and get a cheap Halloween wig and style it using the same way you'd style hair. If you want it real good, go to a proffessional wig shop... once again you can have it cut and styled the way you want it.
