Help! Need a base for LOTR Cave Troll...

I had this LOTR Cave Troll model painted up by a friend...

The Lord Of The Rings Muscle Of Moria Cave Troll Model Kit

Could anyone offer any ideas for a base?

I kinda wanted it to look like the floor from the "Mines of Moria" scene he was in...?

Maybe check out some Verlinden pieces. I don't know the scale of the troll but there displays are 1/35 or 1/72

Those model bases look cool, but much too small I think.

The troll is about 18" tall. My guess is about 1/10 scale.

You could use a round wooden plaque as a base, covered by balsa foam carved to look like the mine floor. Once you're happy w/ the way the floor looks, you can brush gesso or resin over the top of the balsa foam to seal it and make it durable.

Is this the vinyl or resin version? If it's the resin version, that thing weighs a ton, so I would use resin over the foam in that instance.

I think it's vinyl...it's not very heavy.

Perhaps this thread should be about me wanting someone else to build me a base? lol:lol

Where did you get the model? After looking at yours and the guy that did the painting I am really wanting 1 lol.

I think you should carve a "stone" base out of balsa foam and paint it up.
