Fellow member morphosis and I have been trying to track down the gear cases from the Nolan Batman films with no luck. It can be see in Begins during the scenes when Lucius Fox is showing Bruce all the equipment. There are a couple of cases of various sizes but all in the same style.

Another case in the same style appears in The Dark Knight on the stone work table.

We've checked out cases from Pelican, SKB, Gator, and nothing is exactly this model. Don't want one that's similar or 90% same, but this exact model. At this point I'm wondering if they weren't custom made for the films. I've Googled for equipment cases, crates, tool boxes, transport cases, military cases, industrial cases, nothing close. Anyone able to track these babies down?

It's highly unlike;ly they were custom made, it would be quite an expense for something that that isn't featuyres. Now the insides were certainly made for the film.

I would guess they were some OEM equipment case. For TNG, I know a lot of military surplus, old camera (camcorder and the like) cases were used, painted and redressed appropriately.

Those latches down by the feet are interesting. You have to wonder why the case (originally) would be carried from that side, opposite the foot bumpers, but made to latch there as though for presentation?
Perhaps the handle was also relocated?

I love stuff like this. Too much in fact, I have several cases in my garage that were the same as ones used on various shows... Problem is, I haven't cut out the insides to make them practical at all, so they are fantastic at collecting dust!

I am already looking out for some belt buckles made from aircraft (or similar) latches, I will add pics of this to my search list... :D

The contents I'm working on as a separate project, but I would love these exact cases to display that stuff. I know the Armoire wasn't highly featured in the film but was entirely custom scratch built, which seemed to me like a lot of work for little payoff. I wouldn't put it past them to custom make these, except they just aren't fancy enough to seem custom.

I've done extensive searching as well, came up with zero. I'm to the point that it would be cheaper to just scratch build one. Just wouldn't mind getting better pics of it first. There hard to come by to. :$

Hell I'll pay someone if they can scratch build it. If anyone reading this wants to take a shot at it, contact me.

Greg & I have been searching for a few months. One reliable source said they were custom made. And i believe Greg has 1 other reliable source hopefully will get back to us about them. One thing ive noticed on the 2nd & 3rd pics that i screen captured, is that you can see a label / logo of some kind on the top and on the side. But there is just no clear image of the logo. But it could be a Wayne Enterprises label as well...just hard to tell...

the 1st reliable source i talked to said they pretty much custom built everything for the films. Even just like certain paintings that were in Wayne Mansion they commissioned someone to paint replicas of the originals on canvas, they were not just poster replicas.

Ill be really surprised if these are manufactured by some company unless they commissioned them to build these only for the films.

if someone wants to scratch build them, ill go in on that!
Thanks for your help!

Looks like maybe a simple black box with latches, and the lighter parts added on to make it look more detailed?

That looks like two boxes joined together. See how it's tapered around the edge of the lid? See how the taper matches the bottom? See how there's a seam around the middle in the second picture?

Just a wild guess here, but it kinda looks more like a laminated thin wooden cabinet, like from above the wash hand basin in a bathroom or something. The top looks more like a door to me than a proper lid with some depth. Of course, I'm only going by the pictures posted here. Any pictures of it with the lid half open?

And I agree the fancy stuff looks like it was added later.

Ok, after studying it again I now believe it is as you say. A simple black box with rubber bumpers added. However, I'm still looking for someone who can make it. I don't have the means to do plastic molding and forming, so if anyone wants to take a crack at it, PM me.

Hi, did you ever find out who made these cases?

I believe they were custom for the film.

Little followup:
I'm still using my Pelican 1700 rifle case for my gear, but there's a great site called mycasebuilder.com (no affiliation) that lets you design custom foam shaped cutouts and have it laser cut and delivered. You can choose between spongy or rigid foam. I made a design that fit the P1700 but has elements of the original case foam thrown in.

Belt and pouches are missing here since I'm having them redone, but the foam is fantastic!
