Hello everybody! I am gald to say that thanks a good people on this forum I only need the last things to do my very own Han in Carbonite. The fact is I want to make it with my face, so I'll do a mould of my hands and face with alginate and fill it with resin. The problem comes with the body, I don't have any idea of how I can made it:

Any idea of how make a mould and which material use for that part of the body with clothes without wasting the mould when I'll remove it? I can use old clothes so there is no problem if clothes waste it as long as the mould will be good.
I'll could use too old clothes and fill them, any idea of materials to fill them and make harder?

Thanks in advance!

You can actually build the body without having to mold and cast it. I've heard of people building the body out of foam material and then adding the clothes which they then harden with glue or resin. Then you simply sculpt the rest of the flat surface around the body in foam as well and you should be done. At least that removes the molding and casting of something that large.

Thanks for the info. I've heard that as well, but I wasn't sure to be hard enough only adding the glue/resin on the old clothes, nor to be skilled to do it. I'll see how to do it or what kind of foam I can find. Maybe I can do something that could be good. Thanks.

I forgot to answer:
If I use real clothes instead a mould. How I can make them look like hard piece of carbonite? I mean, I'll use jeans trousers so the weist part would look like weird even if I cover it with the shirt. It won't look like carbonite, you know what I mean?

A note about using resin in an alginate mold. Urethane resin hate's moisture. If there is even a hint of it, the resin tends to bubble up and deform like crazy. If you're set on using alginate I would use some ultracal for the cast. You could also use rondo to do the casting, but make sure the alginate is sealed really well. To make the clothes look like stone you could use what they call monster mud.

Hello, thanks for answering. I have been looking for both, ultracal and monster mud. I saw monster mud is a mixture of drywall joint and exterior latex paint, but I'm not sure of what is ultracal, it seems another specific kind of dental product. Otherwise, I saw some people making moulds with alginate and resin without problems, maybe I am wrong but I think there is an alginate non hydrophobic. Any more tips, explanations or corrections are welcome.
