Help in ID'ing this small piece

In the top center of the piece the small square think between the red and white lights? Cant be more than 3/4" square, I guess.
Does it look familiar to anyone? I can't place it. I need to replicate it however and any suggestions are welcome.

Kinda looks like a pop-up viewfinder for an old camera. That's a very rough guess at best.

I have no idead what it is, but it looks like it would be really easy to recreate. Just make it out of styrene and rip a laser lens out of an old CD player for the center lense/light/whatever it is....

Not sure, but it kind of looks like one of the webcams that are built into the top of laptop screens... I couldn't find anything the same, but it could be a starting point?

I did get a suggestion it might be a camera charm from back in the 60's. A type of dime store or gumball machine thing. Its pretty small though that's for sure.
The entire thing (box with the lights and switches) is only 2.5" x 3.25"

PS just got of the phone with my electrical supplier and they said they are back ordered on the switches for at least 3 months and no other of the major vendors have them either. CRAP! Now i have to search through some vintage electrical stuff in search of some switches.
