Help identifying these original Biker Scout parts!

Hey all! Recently the Pathfinders were allowed to see several detailed photos of the TD assembly from a screen used Biker Scout. So the race is on to discover the following:

1) Can anyone identify the black clips?
The measurements shown in the image are for the clips

2) Can anyone identify the cable shown that is wrapped around the "TD tube"? The cable measures 3mmx3mm. This is the info that was shared with us.

Any help would be monumental for all Scouts!

The cabling looks like ordinary household phone wiring.

A few thought that as well, but upon closer inspection the shape was off...it's possible it could be early 80s phone cord. This seems to have an almost trapezoidal shape by the look of it
