help finding something for this perforated steel look

Its a punched sheet metal part. However, with a hand punch it would take a year to make.

You could probably find a machine shop with a CNC punch press to make it, then bend the thing to shape.

You're in England. Good.

Nip into your local B&Q. Last time I was there (the one in Reading) they had perforated metal sheets. Can't recall which kind of metal as I was looking for something else, but it was in with the 16ga sheet steel.

Homebase, Focus and Wickes might also do something suitable, as might Robert Dyas, Drew The Ironmongers and so on. Basically any DIY/hardware shop.

You can likely find sheets of it online, too.

and its small scale so would look the part on a model ?

ive got no problem finding the full size regular stuff , but no tiny scale stuff

I bought some on ebay for my Pit Bull Hoverboard project. Just search for perforated steel sheets.

I think McMaster Carr has it too… but expensive. How big a piece do you need?

Just search ebay for "photo etch metal screen". You will find exactly what you need.

4D in London do a range of standard etched brass sheets at around £8.00 each -http://www.modelshop.co.uk/article/show/65

If there's nothing suitable they will produce any design you want but it’s an expensive process.
A couple of weeks ago I commissioned an A4 sheet of 5 thou brass and it cost £126.46.
If you choose to go down that route I could help you with the artwork if you want.

Ah, I didn't see what scale you wanted. Wasn't even sure where it goes on the DeLorean. Just a small pic of what looks like the full size car! :lol

do you have a pic showing it on your board?
thanks

I haven't installed it yet, but here is a photo.
