Hellsing 454 Casull Replica

Hey guys I'm new to the site but I'm getting into some of the cosplay conventions and I want to make a replica of Alucard's 454 Casull out of either aluminum or metal something along those lines. But I've made somethings before money is not a big problem but I wanted to know if I could get some suggestions about making one. Any idea's would work, I'm trying to basically make a prop gun, so i can get fake 454 casull shells and to where the prop gun will be ejectable but not fully function so it can never be fired. So basically I want to make it to where the slide can go back and forth the breach will open and a fake shell casing will eject from the chamber but as i said it's all prop nothing will be shot out of it I have no intention of going to jail for 15-20 years lol. But here's a picture for a reference.

can't see the pic, but i know what it looks like.
try to contact blindsquirrel here on the board, he once made static gun-props from the videogame Devil May Cry (which bear resemblance to alucard's guns). although he made them out of wood, he did a fantastic job and i guess he can give you some general advice (though the shell ejection mechanism is another story)

That's going to take a lot of engineering, creating a semi-automatic prop gun that doesn't shoot but still ejects shells, from nothing. Are you planning to have some kind of spring/piston action that will do this?

The 454 casull is a rimmed revolver cartridge, so there is no base gun you can use as a template either. You'd have to use a 1911 maybe, and size it up, maybe like they did for the LAR grizzly.

However you choose to go, man, it's a good thing price is not an issue. It's going to cost a mint to create it.

I'd suggest that you are better off trying to get a hold of a posieden kit, or doing what they did, which is to create a shell over an existing airsoft gun, or maybe a PFC gun. I believe posieden used a glock.

Good luck.

EDIT: They used a desert eagle as the base gun. Which does chamber 357, 50AE and 44 mag rimmed revolver cartridges. It looks nothing like the Alucard guns, but could be a place to start.

As suggested hiding an over the counter shell ejecting auto in a shell is going to be the easiest method, but it's won't exactly be accurate or 454...

IMO without actually digging into it in detail, I do believe if you are really willing to spend the money a non firing shell ejecting mechanism could be developed within 'reason' as there is a good amount of space in that gun to work with... BUT making that entire slide function and eject would certainly be a challenge and wouldn't come cheap...

Well just like how a cartridge would eject from a normal gun the spring inside the magazine pushing the next round into the chamber while when you pull the slide back it will push the cartridge out. Same method just not as many working parts.

There are PFC Modelgun Desert Eagles(by Hudson) and .44 automags, this would give you a bang and shell ejection.

You realise you'll never be able to bring this to any 'convention' don't you? They have very strict rules about prop weapons, espically guns.

They never made a working Casull. They made the Jackal which could be built over a beretta airsoft, which required serious modification. This guy http://www.flickr.com/people/raynecreations/ is a member here and has one of the Poseidon Casull's. As far as I know he will still sell casts of it if you inquire.
