Hey Gang,

I haven't posted about a non-Star Wars prop in a while! My oldest son asked me to make him Hellboy's Samaritan for his birthday. I bought a cheap ($80.00) 3-D print from Ebay and went to work! In hindsight, I wish I had searched harder for a more accurate model, but I made the best of this one.

Here's my first progress pic showing how the parts go together. Here I was just starting to clean up some of the 3-D printed parts. You can see how low-res some of them were:

Clean up continues. You know the drill: sand, filler, sand, primer, repeat:

At this point it was getting pretty smooth so I took some time to correct some details I didn't like:

Finished grip (I filled this full of old hardware for weight):

I added a real metal ring for the leather cord on the handle. Here is the finished gun (minus bullets):

Bullets!

Overall, I had a lot of fun making this - WAY more than I was expecting.
I'm very pleased with how it came out as well!

Thanks for looking!

I hear ya. It was actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Just take it one piece at a time and don’t rush it.
