Helagaks Iron man Mark 42 ALL FILES RELEASED!!

Re: Helagaks Iron man Mark 8/42 model and Pepakura files. COMPLETE RE BUILD!! new fil

Thanks everyone.
Hey, theone111, that looks awfully small on you. Use pep designer and use "measure between two points. Then measure the same spots on your body, do the math to discover the perfect scale for you.
There has been alot of confusion about the scale of my parts due to different people making different unfolds. I have also been unfolding. I am going to try to rectify all of this on the front page. So, apologies.

Anyways, I'm ALMOST done with the whole leg!! http://www.imgur.com/MkXSNvr.jpeg

Also, I finished the shin unfold!
It's the same scale as my arm pieces and boot.

The thigh will be out shortly. Then I will finish the cod.
As for a brace, I'm not sure it's needed. And as of right now there are no plans for creating a neck or ha. D files. Tho this may change in the future.
And if anyone wants to create pdf files, go right ahead. :) post links and I'll add em to the front page.

See, I thought it was too small, but I'm not sure. After seeing that new post of your's, with your entire file progress, now I see where each piece should fall on my body (like the bicep goes from this point on the upper arm to this point, etc. etc.). I remember reading that the scale is for a 5'10" and that's what I am. lol.

Back to the drawing board!!! GGGGRRREEEAATT files though, helagak. Nice nice nice!

Once again, thanks for all the comments. And everyone that has helped with conversions.
Here is a teaser of the next piece! Should be unfolded today!

I was looking at the shin piece posted and was wondering, is the knee piece being released on its own?

If you are doing it in cardboard, use foam templates. Scale to fit you, then print on either regular printer paper or cardstock (I use regular paper), cut out and trace onto the cardboard. Cut out cardboard pieces and hot glue together (just as you would with foam). Once the part is completed, follow the steps for building cardstock parts (resin/fibreglass, bondo, sand, paint).
:cool

Re: Helagaks Iron man Mark 8/42 model and Pepakura files. COMPLETE RE BUILD!! new fil

Yes, the knee is a separate file. This is so people can attach it to the shin or thigh or get creative a make it a floating knee. Whatever they like. The knee will be out shortly after the thigh. It's pretty simple.

Just wondering if anyone can help me with the articulation joints. I need them to overlap. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1376587851.926207.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1376587986.695998.jpg

The rounded part on the forearm meets with the round part of the bicep. The elbow part of the bicep will overlap a bit of the forearm.

Thanks for replying so quick! that makes a lot of sense!

This thread is getting me motivated to build! Would it be possible to get a single .pdo of the entire suit assembled when all the parts are modeled? I feel like it would help to figure out overall scaling. I tried to bring the back into the chest file and they weren't oriented correctly to each other. Hope this makes sense.

Okay that actually made a lot of sense. Why isn't the suit made in one pdo but many individual ? It should be easier to scale this way. But there's probably a reason for it to be made part by part.

Re: Helagaks Iron man Mark 8/42 model and Pepakura files. COMPLETE RE BUILD!! new fil

I see now that there is a 'whole arm' pdo here... That's what I'd like to get for the chest and back. I think I'd be easier to establish my scale if I can measure them together. A 'whole leg' has been discussed too, that would be very useful.

Thanks for the great files! Keep up the terrific work

I believe that most of the files (if not all) are scaled for someone 5'10" . this should help with getting a basic sense of scaling to your size

Re: Helagaks Iron man Mark 8/42 model and Pepakura files. COMPLETE RE BUILD!! new fil

Thanks for the suggestions. A whole suit pdo would be possible. Just a ton more unfolding to do. A whole leg will probably happen. I need to fix the scaling on the chest and back so they are the same scale as everything else. This will all be taken care of. Just after I finish the suit. The modeling is taking most of my free time atm. The goal is to make this a painless (relatively...) as possible. Give me a couple weeks and I should have a final product.
Everyone using my files right now is more or less a beta tester. :lol
