Heath Ledger Joker bust 1:1

made a little progress with the base today, I thought it was going to be too big but now I am sure it will be okay....it IS big but then so is the whole torso! I may consider making it a little smaller in future but for now, this is the size I am going for. I am having the sides 3D printed from my own design and they should be ready in a week or so. Once they are printed, I will be fixing them to the base and putting a finishing bead on the edges of the panels to hide the joins. Then, I may either spray it with cast iron textured paint and weather it or granite style, not sure yet.

Had a mess around with some photoluminescent paint powder just for a giggle, it works okay but because I had to make it thin (to not be able to see the green tint) it needs had charging but looks quite cool in the dark after a good light charge. I doubt I will be putting it on the final product though.

Cast three perfect heads in Dragon Skin, awaiting eyes to be made now and then draw in the hairline and paint. Work has also progressed on the base which now has all the panels in place awaiting corners to finish and additional parts to put on the top plinth, to make that less boring. Then onto the base painting.

Going for a patina finish on this but undecided on whether to go for the cast iron/grey textured finish or black....

Here is a demo side panel which I can mess around with:

Hi bud

I bought a bust last week which looks like a very poor cast. It does look a little like heath ledger but I'm not convinced as of yet. I've sanded it down, primed rtx.and its making it a bit smoother. The eyes were awful so I've filed them and will be rebuilding them using milliput.

Nothing near yours but it's my first time. One day I'll.be confident enough to sculpt my own.

It is crazy how time flies and I checked when I started my Heath Ledger Joker sculpture, it was 2017!!

Anyway, at last I have finished the whole project, after over 14 test heads and many different methods, learning about silicone and molding/casting, hair punching, foam, clothing and much, much more. The finished Joker is now sitting very proudly in a gallery in the UK, awaiting an offer of purchase.

Not entirely movie accurate but as good as it is going to get from me and I am very happy with the finished product.

A bit photo heavy but here are some work-in-progress photos of the build up to the final item:

I will probably build another 3 of these and then retire the mold, will likely be a few years until that is done though!
