I can't really believe I'm the first here to get one of these but I couldn't see any other threads, so here goes. :) Apologies if the photos aren't up to RPF standard but I wanted to get them done and posted ASAP.

Ordered from Propstore yesterday, arrived today!

And here it is!

"That's a very nice gun."

The batteries go into the butt end, which is covered by a removeable panel held on by magnets! Very simple, very nice.

Batteries were included (ready-installed) but you did have to pull out the little protective plastic tag. That's all!

The 'on button' is in the centre of the silver disc on the left hand side. Press on, press off. When powered up, the red LED on the front comes on and stays on, and the LED digit counter comes on - showing '999'.

Each time you pull the trigger (a good solid action by the way), the LED counts down by 1.

You can see that the barrel is open - thankfully no orange plugs here - in fact it's hollow for a long way back.

Here is the display base.

Some assembly required - you have to insert this clear plastic 'U' cradle yourself. :lol

How is that going to support the gun? The flat part of the base has a recess which accepts the butt. It's a perfect fit and is felt-lined.

The lower part of the front end sits on the 'U' cradle, which straddles the thin silver bar without touching it.

The name plaque is integral with the base. The edition number appears to have been put on by hand, in silver pen. :cool

As I was putting the gun on the base for the first time, I was thinking "Oh no, they put the wording on the wrong side so I can't display it with the LEDs facing me." Wrong! The name plate is repeated identically on both sides, so you can have it whichever way you desire.

My wife and I are both really impressed. This piece is gorgeous! A lot of thought and care has gone into the design and construction. The finish is excellent and it has a nice weight to it.

It's going on display with my Matt Munson multipass. :) I think HCG have made an excellent start. I just hope they keep up the good work and don't let standards slip. If they put out more props this good, I'll be a happy customer.

Wow. That is really nice. Even just the LED counter that actually counts down...neat! It's the simple things that attract us apes.

That looks WONDERFUL!

Glad to see that a new prop company can release a 3D prop without endless delays and compromises in the product, seriously!

does it make that high pitched whine (like a photo flash charging?)

imo that sound is what made the pistol resonate with seriousness.

Glad to hear HC delivered a quality product! I was on the fence with this one, but now I'm sold... :thumbsup

I also recieved mine today from propstore. Its supposed to be a birthday present and wife wont let me play. However i did have a wee sneak, you know just to check it over!!!
Excellent replica, nice weight, and well put together.....however.....
The brief couple of mins i had to play, before i got caught, i did notice a few finishing flaws, which will need closer inspection. But more importantly, my electronics appear to be playing up. :cry. The switch on is a bit tempremental, and mine counts down in random amounts from 999 with one press of the trigger. It jumps from 998, to 972, then 971, then 965. I'm going to have a better inspection tomorrow, and will let you all know. Maybe it was my sheer excitment that made me do something wrong!!!!

But, this is in no way a bashing, it is a great piece, very well put together, and hosts great detailing. I will give it a thoughough once over tomorrow, and come up with my thoughts then. I would like to stress i have only had it in my hands for 3 mins really, so maybe i shouldn't of commented until i have the actual facts. If it transpires i am incorrect, then i will edit / delete post as required. I am really not trying to be negitive, it is a great replica.

The display base is great, and displays the piece well. The plaques are fantastic. And just to add in mine is #369 of 1000 (although the shipping box says #369 of 500!!!!)

If you haven't already, then get one, i really dont think you will be dissapointed. Great replica at a great price.

Wow, can't wait for mine to come in.

What up with the Propstore people getting there's already? I ordered mine from Hollywood Collectibles like...8 months ago.

Now, they turn their attention to the Pulse Rifle. :love

I wonder if they'll be allowed into the UK?...

That looks like a really nice piece! Thanks for the review and the pics.
5E was such a fun movie. Just seeing that gun makes me want to watch it again! I think I will. :)

I agree....I was on the fence a few times due to the ever increasing waiting time but I stuck with it. Kinda annoying I'm still waiting though when others have received theirs!!:rolleyes

I must admit though that it does look superb....cant await to get it!!:)
