Have I seen this snake staff prop before in other films?

I just saw "The Man Who Would Be King" (1975) and when they get to the main religious city the priest has this cool staff that is making me feel deja vu. I thought, surely conan the barbarian right? but no all the snakes I could find were facing inwards. Someone suggested The Exorcist but I sped through the 10 minute intro and didn't see anything, but the vibe was right. I can't shake this itch, that I've definitely seen it before, but I can't place it. Anyone think it's got a history?

I tried searching by submitting the image, and it did find some art items remotely similar, but mostly it showed me images of slingshots.
