Have I got the tie from 'The Mask'?

Hello,

A little while back I watched 'The Mask' and realised I either have the same tie from when he's wearing the yellow suit, or possibly one VERY similar...

.. So I wondered if you guys can answer the question for me?

So, before the photo, I picked this up years back from a shop called the 'Tie Rack'. On looking at photo's of the film, it's not Identical, but looks (to me) to have been made out of the same print.
The lighter dots you see that seem to overlay the pattern are actually the material itself -generally you can't see them but my i-phone seems to pick them up for some reason...

I'm sure there's someone on the RPF that knows, so give me your thoughts!

I think possible they are cut from the same fabric.
Can you post more pics of your tie, the entire length and the other side
so we can look for a place the patchwork placement might match up.

Here we are - full length...

Most people seem to think it is -but just from a 'different cut' of the material - I thought one of you guys might already know the exact tie...

I think ManfromNaboo is right. "No. Similar, but no."
Laying out the back of the tie along the edges of the front of the tie,
that's as much of the pattern repeat we can see.
The two ties only match up at that one little circled area.

On closer inspection, it looks like the two fabrics may be negative
images of each other. The Mask tie has black patches with little white
dots and white patches with big black dots that yours seems to have
the opposite of.

But heck, it's still really cool and really close!

its not the same one, but heck its so close no ones gonna notice if you use it on a costume!

Wow! That's really neat. I'm planning on replicating this tie very soon. And those photos will be helpful. Interestingly, the original tie also has that tone-on-tone effect, but it is a floral pattern, not the ovals that your tie seems to have.

Would you mind posting (or e-mailing me) the measurements of your tie (length & width at various points long the tie)?
