I have started a huge photo project that requires a few ships. I have chosen to use practical ships because I had the Hasbro Falcon in the garage. I bought an upgrade details kit for that and can't wait to start the paint process on it as well as the rest of the ships!! I ordered the Revell 60cm Star Destroyer(oh boy)

This is out of the box, I am going to do an acetone wash before the filler primer. The plastic they used for these does not work well hence the acetone wash. I am still deciding on engine and headlights....super stoked!

I don’t know why it works but I used hycote adhesion aid spray paint followed by hycote automobile bumper paint (on the advice of RPFers) when I did mine and it worked very well.

also, for the engine lights: I made my own with strips of LEDs behind transparent styrene, but falcon3dparts do an engine light kit which is probably easier.

mine ended up looking like this on the inside:

Progress on the maintenance bays, I decided to remove them and build them to add depth to them as well as where the hull connects with the mandibles. This way I can paint them a little easier and with more attention to details.

Kun28,

Thanks It started out so simple lol just background for a photo, now I want it as cool as I can afford!! I am still waiting on more parts. I bit the bullet on the control arms for the engine louvers, I really like how they look when they are separated from the hull. I have started to create the greebles as best I can. Details details details....
