Hasbro Black Series Snowspeeder Repaint

Hi folks, I know there's already a great thread by Timmythekid about this really fantastic toy, but I wanted to show you what I've been working on for a wee while.
This is a commission, I was asked to repaint this toy & add some lights to the cockpit, it has the additional Luke figure & both figures will be repainted also.
The first thing I did was to carve out the foggy windows (cut my thumb in the process), & fill up some underside parts of the laser cannons

I filled the underside of the cannons,. but I was still unhappy with them, so I ordered a couple of aluminium tubes from eBay.

I also filled in some sink marks which show up when looking at it from various angles

You did a really good job of cutting those windows out. Can you elaborate on how you did that?

The windows are already cut out in this version.

Wait, what?

Hi folks

I used a small drill to enter the area that I was to cut out with a scalpel blade, cutting the plastic is different to cutting styrene, it doesn’t score & snap, you have to cut cleanly with the blade,...... do it in long continuous slices so that there are no ragged edges.

Just be careful as I said earlier, I did cut myself

Anyway I’ve done a bit more

I was talking with a friend on Facebook & he was saying about the grey stripes on Luke’s Snowspeeder, on the studio model you can see that the stripes are stuck on, either decals or rub down decals & you can see they are lifting a bit, so I had an idea about using inkjet decal paper to use for these stripes

I cut the basic shapes for the nose area,...sprayed them with primer, then airbrushed on Archive-X Lark dk with a bit of AX Grime mixed in

Then they were applied to the model

I’m pretty happy with the way they look

Yeah, me neither. I don't think I am even going to attempt to cut out the windows on mine. I know I don't have the skill to do it and make it look like anything other than crap.

Come on, someone get this canopy (front AND back pieces) available for purchase!!

Hi, I'm disassembling mine but I can't get the rear end off, any advice you can give me to do it.

Thanks.
Hey Fernando- there’s 2 tabs on the rear cooler assembly. I opened the front like a clam shell and got a long screwdriver down there and pushed the tabs inward while pulling the back off. After that I shaved most of those tabs off in case I want to take it apart again later.
