Has IG-88 showed up in any other movies?

I know it seems like a dumb question, but hey a lot of star wars props were reused stuff, from other movies. And, it just seems way too cool of a prop, to destroy, or shelve, after the movie, to never be seen again.

"IG-88 where is he now." :lol

I really could have asked this about any number of props, but I just had him on my mind. :lol

(I posted this here, because if he has been in anything else, I thought the ref pics, might be helpfull, but fell free to move it if you like.)

IMO - IG-88 was probably scrapped after the Cloud City garbage room scene. It's the same prop just white-washed.

I can't think of any SW props off hand that have been in any other movies (except maybe the Sterlings stripped back down or other real world guns).

What about?

Ugnot masks. ("Hotel hell", or was it "Motel hell")
the mask of the devil looking guy in the cantina. (I don't remember the movie, but it was in some old film.)
The fly in the cantina. (from the original "the fly")
The base gun for Han's ANH hero DL-44 ("The naked runner")
Any number of other Cantina masks.
Oh, and IG-88's head in the cantina. (So they liked that part)

I don't know, was the Rexim, used for Doc Evasan's gun, the same one used for the base gun for the gun in Alien, or where they both just Rexims.

We know obi-wan's robe from ANH (and maybe others of the OT, I don't know if they had different ones.) was recently found in a costume shop, so it may have been rented out, before, or after the Star Wars films.

And those are just a few off the top of my head.

I never heard the ugnaughts were reused. Any pics?

The rest of the masks were in something else first then Star Wars which is a different situation. Reusing Star Wars props (or prop parts) within multiple Star Wars movies is another thing too - very common.

As I said some base guns were stripped and reused since they were only rented. I would guess the Evazan blaster probably did become a Nostromo pistol since the Rexim in Alien has two holes on the side where the second scope attached. All the add on parts are different though. It was completely stripped, returned to Bapty stock and then converted for Alien. I bet Moonraker used a lot of ANH Sterlings too.

I thought the idea behind the original question was if any props made for Star Wars show up in later (non SW) movies?

Nothing I can think of.

I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't clear then. I mean, before, or after Star Wars. Was IG-88 (or other props for that matter) used in anything else, in any shape, or form. It doesn't matter to me if it was refitted, reshaped, or displayed upside down. I'm just looking to see where else they might have been used.

For that matter it could even be in univers. I mean, we know his head was in the Cantina. Are there any seines we're missing with him? Was parts of him used in other films (before, or afte) Did he show up, in say ROTJ, and we missed him. (Bossk, or at least part of his costume, is behind boba, in Jabba's place in one shot. For that matter, his suit shows up in the cantina)

An IG-88 was used in the Francis Ford Copolla's Remastered version of The Godfather released in the 1990's replacing Johnny "Hat-stand" McGuffin.

I believe the change was made when the company responsible for the restoration (Lucasfim I believe) said they were unhappy with his performance in the film and replaced him with the IG-88 which was still residing at Elstree studio's in Boreham Wood

Here's a photo I found from some crazy nut anally retentive fan-site.

According to an inquiry to our friend, the R2 wrangler, Lucas doesn't have IG88.

Man - I wish we had more pictures of him.

The ugnaught masks were definitely not in Motel Hell. That pig mask was oversized, the ugnaught masks were undersized, to fit "little people." And it's a totally different looking mask.

Don't think it was the original Fly mask, either. Likely a Rick Baker "homage" to the original.

I will say that at least one Planet of the Apes gorilla vest ended up on screen in the Star Wars Holiday special version of the cantina.

Besides ESB, IG88 also shows up in ANH as part of the cantina drink dispensing equipment. (Most likely an expresso machine).

The Falcon is supposed to be in Bladerunner.

A replica pod from 2001 shows up in Watto's junkyard.

ETs are in the senate.

And, I don't know if this has come up before, but the base flare gun for Boba Fett's rifle shows up in "Five Thousand Fingers of Dr. T."

The three round little silver disk things found on the snowtrooper beltbuckles can also be found on HR Gieger's Alien.

I don't know about the ugnot thing, I've never seen Motel hell (or whatever it's called) I just heard that years ago, and listed it to give an idea of what I was talking about. Same with the fly. I have know Idea where it came from, I just know when I looked through "star wars chronicles", years a go, I when "Hey, I never knew the fly with in the cantina".

I've seen the falcon in Bladerunner, it built into the top of one of the buildings. I can't recall the see, all I can tell you is once you start looking the the tops of the buildings you can't miss it. (It kind of from the top, but at a slight angle, so it's clearly the falcon)

They also put CGI falcons in the battle with the borg cub, in First Contact. You can't really see them on the DVD,, they're way too small, but I've seen a number of articles, from the guys that did the CGI work, and they said, since they were working on the special (90's) editions of Star Wars, the already had the CGI models, so they thought they would through them in for fun.

There are way to many in universe "ester eges" for me to list. Like in episode one, when Jar Jar nocks over the battle droid, and says "they're broked" The marking ion the droids back back, blur in to 1138. etc. etc.etc.

Sterling submachine guns (trooper blasters) were used in the 1978 Superman movie, when old blue eyes goes down into Luthor's lair. Although cut from the theatrical release, the DVD contains the scenes of Supes getting blasted with fire, ice, and a hail of bullets from the guns.

Check it out.

The Falcon in Blade Runner was a building.
See here:

It was made from the off the shelf model kit so that's just a BR easter egg, not a reused prop.

Most of the examples so far are not really reused props unless you want to include the Obi-Wan robe (rumored to be in "The Name of the Rose") and the bare guns (rented to other productions by Bapty).

Movie props get reused in other non-related films when they are rentals.
Some stuff in ANH was rented, but mostly just basic stuff like guns and background costumes.
We all know some cantina masks were reused from Rick Baker's stock (werewolf, devil, etc). The Krayt dragon skeleton in the desert is from the Disney movie "One of our Dinosaurs is Missing".

The skeleton was probably still laying around Elstree at the time so they just used it.
