Giving this as a Christmas present - I think I should have enough time to weather it! It'd be great to know how best to weather these without damaging it too much.

Andrew, I meant if you want to age it more. It's aged to what I think is perfect, but some people prefer to make it completely tatty, so I can help if they so wished to do so on that.

Also update for you all, the courier is all booked in for europe/rest of world. They are all being picked up Thursday as was earliest delivery slot available, without me going to a post office and panacking about getting mugged :lol

Will have them all scanned and receipts with tracking which I will then send on to you all.

Hi Canada,

It's been digitally aged as an overlay to make it look aged. You will see what I mean when it arrives.

But if you feel that you want to take it even further, then I am happy to help you out on how to achieve this without ruining it. Unfortunately it would have added far too much time to age the entire 100 books and boosted the price up. I've tried to give the best replica I can, at the best price for all. I'm sure you will be super happy once you receive it though.

Also, the original has silver gilding on the ends of the pages, but I couldn't add this without making the price skyrocket. Again, I have products you can buy that you can achieve this for not too much money which I am happy to help you out with if you wanted to also add this.

I'd be interested in how to further age the pages and in how to get the gilded edges.

Arrived here as well! Risky packaging, but the book is aweeeesome. I will weather it a bit more (the pages and their corners are still crisp) but would love to add that silver to the outside of the pages first. Would you post that technique/advice when you get a chance?

I've always used those boxes, same type that amazon uses and I've sent probably over 500 of them out over a period of 3 years and never had any issues with them.

I'll drop you a message on the gilding.

Snowfire, thanks for the message about the gilding!

First, know that the book arrived completely fine! The "risk" was in that the cardboard flap which closes an end was untucked from the package so the book could have slid out (mine hadn't, but pulled out pretty easily);. The box isn't watertight. If it'd rained here, I think water would have gotten to the book on our porch. No complaints though! All's well that ends well!

No worries, will take note and see what can be done, as may have to get the masking tape out

Although the books should not be left on the porch for starters, as they should be signed for and shouldn't even be left in a safe place. Did state all deliveries are not to be left anywhere, so let me know if the case and will stick a query in to the company.
