Harley Quinn Suicide Squad WIP

Hello All,
I have been posting the progress of my costume on the definitive Harley thread, but just thought I'd make a build thread for fun! I was so excited when the movie came out. I couldn't wait to make my Halloween costume this year! So without further ado I will recap what we've done so far. And I will also post links.

Here is what I have so far for the costume portion. ( not earrings props etc. )



So for the shirt I thought we would have to buy one and then modify it a bit. ( rips and tears etc. ) But we found this one on eBay and Etsy, from the same person. We didn't have to do anything to it which was awesome!

And now the " Puddin " choker. I got this on Etsy from Lightthedynamite. I love it. A lot of people selling these are making them white for some reason but as you can see this one is in more of a champagne color.

HARLEY'S BAT:
For her bat, my dad is a prop master on a TV show so he had a couple rubber bats that looked really good. So that is what we decided to use. It's just better as far as weight because I will be carrying it all night!
"GOOD NIGHT" :
What we did here is take a picture of her bat and blow it up and print it out until we got the perfect size to create our stencil. Then I cut the letters out with an x-acto knife.


Then my dad traced the letters in pencil, outlined it in black sharpie, and finally colored it in with a red sharpie.



For the diamond pattern he first did it in pencil and then simply colored everything in! Oh and for the burgundy ish band at the top and bottom it is just done in red sharpie first and then over that is black.



And now the part I was dreading doing the writing! I don't know why I was so worried. But once I started, it was fun. So first I wrote in pencil where each line began and ended. It took a while but it was soooo worth it!



And then I started writing! It turned out way better than I expected.
For the white tape, I play hockey, so I just used some white stick tape. Then to dirty it up a little I went in the garage and rubbed my hands on the floor, then rubbed the dirt off on the tape.

Wow it's been a while since I last posted.......... but I got a lot done.
I will post everything, that I haven't this weekend. But for right now, we got my 3D printed ring on shape ways [by thecatwho], you can get it through shape ways in gold but we had it gold plated and pinned after the fact. It looks awesome here are a few pics:

Nice job! I love the rubber bat idea. Like you said, it will make carrying it around all night a lot easier.

We took pictures today of what has been done so far. The only things left to do are, paint my hair cuffs, and do a couple things to my glove. Once we are all done, we will take better pictures with a good camera (these were just taken with a phone).


And of course Ms. Wickett had to see what we were doing!:lol

The jacket is from this Etsy shop. I was a little worried because it is a custom made jacket to your measurements. But It is awesome! And it fits perfectly!!
