So I decided to try and build Harley Quinns Cork Gun. I started with different sketches and looking at all the different kinds from video games, comics, and other artist. I came up with a design I liked and tried to come up with a prototype out of jars.
first attempt out of the middle part of a peaches jar and the bottom of a mustard jar with some eva foam
I liked the overall look but decided i could probably make it all out of eva foam. Alot of guessing on cutting templates, cursing, sanding, and contact cement later..
Sorry I dont have a picture of it all built before sealing it.
After forming it I sealed it with Plastidip
Painted it all silver with a silver acrylic. I mixed in some black acrylic to try and get a more gun metal color out of it.
Then I painted the parts i wanted black and red with acrylic paints.
You can mostly see where Im going with it at this point.
i then started to add a little bit of Harley type details and some weathering with acrylic paints and was done. I constructed a simple base with more Eva foam and painted that as well.
the top curve says Big Boom. I wanted it to seem like if she would have painted the details on. Again I got alot of inspiration from different sources so its kind of a mash up of sorts.
