Happy Birthday, Sam Neill!

Today is the birthday of one of my favorite actors: Sam Neill!

Perhaps most famous for portraying Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park (and JPIII), but also beloved in The Hunt for Red October, In The Mouth of Madness, Alcatraz, Event Horizon, The Omen III, Daybreakers, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, The Dish, Bicentennial Man, etc, etc!

Here's a brief, recent piece of writing by Sam: http://www.esquire.co.uk/culture/fi...ed-interview-jurassic-park-hunt-wilderpeople/

People always tell me they loved me in The Matrix or ask if I'm going to make any more Lord of The Rings films. To which I reply: "f– off, I'm not Hugo Weaving!" Or if I want to, I actually just thank them.

His Merlin Miniseries was quite enjoyable.

BTW The way 2016 has gone I hope the fates didn't hear you just now.

Remember Dead Calm? Thats one of my fav Sam Neill movies. HUnt For Red October as well. I can watch that one over and over.

The earliest thing I saw Sam Neill in was as a villainous medieval knight in the TV movie Ivanhoe together with James Mason, Julian Glover, John-Rhys Davies and lots of other British actors, including Kenny Baker and Jack Purvis (the latter two uncredited).
Over here, it is shown on TV every New Year's Day since the mid 1980's. Whenever John Rhys-Davies is here signing autographs, he signs many autographs for his role in that movie.
