Jaws is 35 years old today. Still a perfect movie, in every way.

Can you imagine what this was like for those very first audiences? I just love walking down memory lane with this film. I did not catch it in its original run (I was 3) but did see it for its 1978 re-release. I remember asking Mom the whole time, "Mom, is this a true story???" :lol

I don't have to imagine what it was like, because I was in one of those first audiences. I had never before seen an audience respond to a film the way people responded to Jaws--laughing, screaming, and cheering at all the right moments, and it was consistent from screening to screening--it was amazing! To this day it's the first film that comes to my mind when someone asks "What's your favorite movie?".

Man I saw it at least 20 times that summer and enjoyed seeing the crowds react as much as seeing the movie!
