Han Solo gunbelt/belt

I am a self-professed fan of non-canon props. That being said, is it ridiculous that I kind of want a belt - that is, the normal kind that you use to hold up your pants - in the style of Han's gunbelt? I like the design of the buckle quite a bit...I think I have the ANH one in mind. Anyone know if there's been a production of Han gunbelts without the holster attached, or even just a run of the buckle itself?

I'm kind of new to this. But most people I've seen that make the gun belt, sell the thing as a set.

I saw a buckle set pop up on eBay a while back. But never since.

Dagnabbit. And I'm not prepared to pay for a full gunbelt getup just to have a neat buckle, as cool as it may be...I'm not much of a full-costume type.

You might be able to modify a Tandy belt buckle blank into the shape of a Solo holster buckle using a dremel and a cut-off wheel.

I had the same idea a few years ago, so now I have a regular han solo belt with the buckles I wear out on the occasion sans gun holder part. I had to buy the leather belt part custom done and then me and a friend made the buckles out of stainless steel. In total I sent about 300 bucks :/

The leather belt is from Matt which is great. The buckels he supplied were a big let down though. Thin aluminum (easliy bendable and felt cheap) with a bondo like material holding it together. It broke on me after wearing it out in the "real" world for the first time. Granted this was about 5 years ago so things could have changed but at the time his pieces were definatley more for show than go.

I then had those thick stainless steel buckles cut and wielded together no more bending and breaking.

His buckles are made from stainless now. Though still held together with JB Weld. I've never had a problem with mine. But have heard of a few mishaps with the screw mounts. Which yours' wouldn't have.

There's someone on eBay selling a fairly simple gunbelt/holster set for not-too-much, and I'm trying to get in touch and see if I can't buy a buckle separately.

Is it costume_bay? Because if it is. I have a ANH holster from him I could sell you at a very reasonable price.

I can put you in contact with the guy who made my Luke Bespin belt.
He makes OUTSTANDING stuff. He also does a fabulous Han belt. Batninja can vouch for his work.
He makes the stuff sold by magic wardrobe (but you won't pay their prices).

Like Wes, I am having the same person do my Solo rig (he's also teaching me a little about the leatherwork trade). I can't say enough about the quality of these pieces. Top-notch.
