Hello,
I am in the market for a Solo blaster but wanted to educate myself on the prop first before I go making purchases.
Are there any online resources that detail the differences of the gun from each movie, showing ample photographic reference and detailing all important information?
Any help would be appreciated.

I think all the info I've seen on it was right here on the forum. There's a particularly impressive ROTJ blaster build, can't remember who's it was, but they put every last detail on that thing. And loads of people have built up the ESB and Greedo killers.

First of all, for a generally overview:

------- The Parts of Star Wars --------

Not everything there is always chiseled in stone, but it´s a pretty good start.

I think that should help a little bit.

I sent Blast-Tech a message asking if they still offer the Mauser since I have now read on another thread that they do not.
In the meantime, I have found that there are several EvilBay sellers that are offering metal Mauser replicas for around $70.
I may go with one of those since the price is very good. The most expensive part of this project is all the accurizing parts.
I have decided on the 'Greedo Killer' since I like the look of the scope as well as the fact that the ANH version gets a lot of screentime - even though I really LOVE that part in ESB when Vader uses the force to disarm Han....another iconic shot in the saga!
Blast-Tech's upgrade kit seems a bit pricey for $200 - not sure if it is accurate or not but woud be willing to pay that if I knew the accuracy was as good as it gets.

I think 70$ is OK, i pay 50€ here in Germany.

Blast-Tech is, according what i could learn around the net, not completly accurate - but it seems still to be a interesting choice cause you can get a complete part-set from one place.

The sad part with their parts is too, that not all is machined for the asked bucks.

And for the Greedo Killer you will need other parts than they offer - another flash hider, another scope, and another scope mount. A set of pieces completely different from the Blast-Tech sets. For the GK you better ask Corellian Export.

Thanks for the info!
I would prefer the GK parts to be all metal. Not too keen on having resin parts on a metal mauser replica. Sure, most of the time it will be on display and no one would know, but I would - and I love that life-like feeling of metal parts.

and I love that life-like feeling of metal parts.

So do i. :)

And that brings me in a strange situation - what to do with the parts that were plastic on the originals (as a example the revell pistons on the esb)? Doing all in metall - or plastic, as it was in the movies?

I have the original pistons - i could use them directly, or cast them in resin, or make aluminium ones on the lathe. Hard decisions. :lol

here in Aus, my local hobby shop sells a replica Mauser for US$250
a BT is certainly a better by for me, but I'm unsure of import laws on these sort of things, better go research

I also am interested in making a GK of my own. Does Corellian Export still offer parts?
