(This is PHArchivists from the "show your firearms" thread)

Looks like a good place to start. I grabbed this pic because it looked closest to whatl I have. From looking at all the pics of Hans blaster he must have had quite a stash, because there are a bunch of variations(Not counting all the replica variations).
But before I start cutting it apart, I want to be sure there is not some crazy collector value to the complete play set. It is a World of Wonders(Tiger Electronics) Star Wars Lazer Tag set. Any real value or rarity?

I have looked around and it is either so plentiful no one collects them or so rare no one has one.

Since the set comes with two blasters I will (probably) do them both at the same time.

I've seen the chestboxes at Goodwill here and there. I doubt that since the original Lazer Tag has there been much interest.

LOL!

I saw the first two pics, and thought "Whoa! Incredible work, there!" :)

Scapey you been on the scottish medicine again :lol

Never seen these before must be pretty rare.

I found the orange one at a Goodwill and started cutting it up, but pitched it when I found one of the classic design blasters, which would be easier to convert. A friend of mine said he had the complete set, but sold it on Ebay for not alot of money.

Perhaps they're rare, but not very valuable as a result.

They paint up quite nicely and still make a noise, which is good!

Here's one I did a couple of years ago - no mods at all on this one aside from a repaint:
