Here's my newest project, Halo Spartan armour for my husband. It's a long term project as I have two kids and so can only work on it when I'm not exhausted from being a full-time wife and mother.
I believe the armour was cast from one of the full-sized Master Chief statues. It's made from fibreglass and I received it in a pretty sorry state so I'm busy repairing cracks and rebuilding missing parts with more fibreglass and eventually I will use body filler to finish off the details.
The helmet is resin and was bought separately from the armour. A really nice, clean cast.
Here's my husband trying some of the armour on. He's 6'4" and the helmet brings him up to about 6'6". I think with some lifts in his shoes he should make a pretty imposing Master Chief.
These are the boots as I got them. I've stripped them apart and repainted.
And as they are now. The colour I'm using is Vauxhall Leaf Green. I didn't like how the armour was originally painted. I think this new colour is a good compromise on the in-game colour and how I think Master Chief would look in real life.
And here is the helmet as it stands now. The visor is only in there so I could see what it would look like. I have the lights wired up, they just need installing. I still have to work on the padding as well. I had originally thought about using a hard hat liner but after getting a cheap one on eBay I realised that I wouldn't know how to attach it to the inside of the helmet and also it didn't fit my husband's giant melon.
As I said, this is a long term project which I'm going to chip away at a bit at a time when life permits. I will try not to let it go too long between updates tho.
