This is what concerns me as well. It’s part of why The Book of Boba Fett is getting a bad name, I think. He spends so much time with his helmet off that it ruins some of the mystique and stoicism of the character.

The difference is that Star Wars has never been about Fett and he was, until now, only shown briefly on screen. Because of that, while there was some mystery/mystique built up around him, he was never the Master Chief or Judge Dredd where the view/reader never getting to see his face was part of his character. He was never developed enough for that to be a part of his character and I feel that many who dislike Boba taking off his helmet are confusing him for Din (aka The Mandorlian) who always kept his on but only because he was part of a fringe Mandalorian and it was part of their "way" but not a general Mandalorian practice.

Exactly. Look at how Bo and her group reacts when they realize Din is a "Child of the Watch". In the old movies, we only ever saw Boba when he was working, so why would he take his helmet off?
Granted, but my main point is that I think studios have developed this habit of taking popular characters and sometimes giving them too much character development. For me this has the opposite effect that they want, if something I like becomes over explained then I tend to like it less. My comparison to Boba was just an example where I’ve seen this happen.
Hollywood doesn't like when helmets cover the actor's faces unless absolutely necessary. To them, that's what they're paying for. They want the audience to see that it's so and so playing whatshisname. Just look at almost every fight scene in Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, and many more. They almost always forego a full face covering helmet when you'd expect someone in that situation to be wearing one.
So, even if the actor playing Master Chief isn't the most famous person ever, you will see them with their face uncovered.

The Hollywood logic makes sense, and I understand the idea that faces sell, but I still don’t always like it haha.

If it's an unknown or relatively unknown they will most likely be ok with never showing the actor's face. The better known the actor, then the more likely it becomes we will see their face because the better known the actor, the more they have to pay them, and the more they'll want to see their face because of how much they're paying for that actor. The notable exception to this rule of thumb was the Karl Urban Judge Dredd where Karl kept the helmet on the entire time or if he was ever helmetless, we never saw his face.

A Human (Appearing?) Antagonist working with the Covenant who can control Lekgolo?
Cortana's drastic appearance change? Which I am sure is to circumvent any accusations of her in game appearance being "Problematic, but even then, the Halo design language always has AI as monochromatic and mostly transparent to telegraph their AI status. They could have given her a UNSC uniform like The Weapon but still kept her blue/purple.
So many of the changes feel so out of place or odd and the excuse of it being a separate or Splinter timeline only carries so much good will. The trailer just reminded me of too many of the Bad parts of Halo: Legends to be excited for this.

Yeah looking at the trailer, a lot of it feels cheap or fan-filmy.
Never have played Halo and don't know much about it.

From what I've heard about the series is that this is an alternate telling of the Halo story that won't follow the original storyline of the books/games.
Master Chief is not the main character. The 16 year old asian girl from the trailer is. Apparently there is going to be some pretty heavy Rey Skywalkering in this story.
The two showrunners have already dropped out of the project before the first episode has even aired.

So, the Halo games are really fun FPS shooters, where you play as John 117, "Master Chief" , a genetically and medically enhanced superhuman soldier, hard-wired to be the perfect fighting machine. The experimental female Cortana A.I. that Master Chief links with becomes the major story arc throughout the series. Some points:
1) By Halo 3 and 4, Cortana was essentially your love interest. And her evolving character design basically turned her into a nude supermodel, which they had to "undo" in Halo 5: Guardians and the current Halo: Infinite, making her less buxom, more mature and giving her digital clothes. Which is why the brief glimpse we get of the new Cortana in the Halo TV series trailer is so jarring; she looks like your little 19 year old sister now.
2) By Halo 4, 5, and the new Infinite, Cortana -IS- the central story.
3) Many love Halo for the multi-player shoot-outs and matches
4) The lore of Halo is convoluted to say the least; I still don't get it. You fight race(s) of aliens over technology built by another race of aliens, but there's actually another even more ancient race of aliens behind a lot of it. And also an ancient plague of space zombies called The Flood.

I really enjoyed this.
If I had ONE nitpick, I’d like to see a bit less of the “FPS” view from inside the helmet. I liked that aspect when it was showing you messages he was receiving, but a few times they used it just to frame a shot and I wasn’t a huge fan of that.
I really liked how in just this first episode, I saw a few aspects of several of the games all rolled into one.
Really looking forward to what this season is going to bring us.
