Definitely my largest build to date. After this I think I'm gonna do some smaller stuff for a while, maybe try doing a few props out of wood.
Anyways.
The rough block.
Halfway through the foam detailing.
Finished the detailing. Also used cardstock for the smaller details.
Railgun with black basecoat.
Railgun with primary paintjob.
Railgun with first run of drybrushing and dirt rub (combo of brown paint and wood stain).
The stencil for a painted decal. I dubbed the railgun 'Thunderpants' because the friend I was making this for was a big fan of RLM and thought it would be awesome to name the railgun after Thunderpants. Because the road to Thunderpants is filled with ****.
Part 2 of the Thunderpants stencil.
Instead of a UNSC logo, my friend wanted a decal of the emblem he uses in Halo to go here: a gas mask with a chainsaw background. This is the first part of it.
Paaaaart Twooooooo
Finished decal with a bit of wood stain smudged over it to make it match the other bits.
The rifle at 90% completion.
Me holding the (unpainted) projectile that the railgun fires (or would, if it was real).
The last few bits that I built separately since painting them when they were attached would have been tough.
The last piece to the railgun: the 'silver bullet'.
The finished railgun
And now, a few pictures I took of me standing in the woods with the finished prop.
And that's that.
