WOW it feels like its been forever. Probably because it has...but I have UPDATES! I worked my *** off the last couple months and pick up that sexy glowing box of awesomeness in the photo below.
Took some time and taught myself how to use SolidWorks and the first thing i modeled was this little cortana chip ( I know there are a thousand of these out there but i don't care.. I made this one so its special......to me) I haven't sanded it down or anything yet that's exactly how it came out of the printer plus a light coat of primer
ok so now for the good stuff... Keep in mind I've never used a 3D modeling software until a couple months ago so I'm still very much learning but here is the first "complete" part I have. I left out some of the detail intentionally either cause I just couldn't get it to do what I wanted or I plan on making it separate to make it easier to paint ( I thought of this after i was half way done with the model or I would have left a lot more out) Its pretty close to game accurate but I did throw in my own touch here and there as far as over all shape and detail.
and here is what I have printed so far
Still have details to add and some sanding but nothing compared to that crap I had peped way back when i started this thread
I've already started modeling the rest of the armor i have the hands, fingers, knees, and shoulders pretty much done I'm just waiting on these first prints to finish and more plastic to come in the mail.
Thanks It feels good to be building again. as for molding the armor definitely. I've got a lot of friends and family that want full suits and its cheaper to mold and cast then print that many and I might sell a few here there to pay for future projects.
