HalloweenCostumes.com "Back to the Future 2 Light Up Shoes"

I'm sure it does but I want to be able to turn the lights on and off whenever I want rather than have to charge the and only see the when it's dark enough anyways here's a before and after shot head on you can't see the led strip anymore you only get a small hot spot in some photos now but in person they look great I used some of this translucent foam stuff that was in a package I got you could probabley find it in a post office I'm not home but I'll post a picture of the material when I can

I would have to say the only negative to the GITD is that you can't just turn it off. Once fully charged, they stay lit for hours.

I wore mine over the weekend where I was out in full sun (so they got fully charged) and then went inside a cinema to watch a film. The glow was failrly bright but not so bright as to be offensive of annoying. Because I made my soles to be outrigger, the side slopes and you can see the GITD easily from the standing height.

Have you replaced the wiring in those yet?

yeah thats mostly why id want lighting instead of gitd and no i havent ive been careful with the wiring ive only messed with it when i moved the on button from the heel to the inner side of the shoe i only plan on wearing these to comic con and maybe halloween i might go el by halloween but for comic con id rather save money for spending there

Both the original and my replacement wires broke in my left shoe. They will never break again :)

LEDs usually hotspot in photos no matter what. Really impressive results for such a simple mod with the new diffusion in the sole. What a huge difference.

Maybe there could be a DIY all LED solution. If something small enough could be fabricated for strap there could be a fully-lit option without any EL. How did you do it cavx? It would never glow as even but it would simplify the electronics.

Still, I'd love to see a conversion of these that goes back to the movie sneaker. Remove toe-box and go with the sock look. Add a thinner swoosh after you flatten the laces, and make your own heal cup letters. The N in NIKE looks like a cartoon H on the real deal and replicas alike. Why? It looks like it reads HIKE MAG.

I put the same diffusion in the heel bubble to get the cloudy look also raised then out like the rd mags and finished my outrigger soles

glasses, great job on those soles. How did you get the outrigger look?
i did what cavx did before he made the clear sole project i just slit open the bottom of the shoe and stuck a foam wedge in between the rubber and the insole so they would stick out more, i know theyre not the correct shape the entire sole is supposed to be out and curved but i really like how they look with just the lit sections being pulled outwards at a curve

Not sure if people are still having issues ordering these HC mags, but I did a "pre-order" this morning, and I got an email 2 hours later that they were shipped! Maybe it depends on the sizes available and on hand (mine was a 9).

I keep telling you guys...the pre-order is just away to keep buyers from using discount codes. They have shoes to ship.

For those of you interested in an awesome shoe cleaner recommendation for your mags. I have been using one that i purchased at ALDO. It works wonders. It comes with a brushing head combined with the applicator. The bristles of the brush are not as rough as most shoe cleaner that have hard plastic. They are more similar to a soft toothbrush so you don't have to worry about ruining the fabric of the shoes over time. I would recommend brushing with the lines of the stitching, not against it. This thing works wonders. I was unfortunate enough to take my Mags with me one night and it started to rain and i got mud on the front and sides of my mags, not only the rubber parts but the cloth as well. I asked my brother in law if he had any shoe cleaner and he popped this bad boy out and i was so impressed by how fast it worked (and i swear it was immediate) I jumped up and bought 4 bottles of this stuff. I also tried it on the laces as well as the tongue and it whitens it like the first day i got them! I don't know what is in this stuff but you won't be disappointed.

Nice, did you repaint your soles, i notice they are lighter in grey!
Yeah I did paint the soles a lighter grey and redid the splatter I took my shoes out for a day and the paint stood up and so did my outrigger soles I'm going to clear coat the soles soon to lock in the paint a little better here's a good pic of my shoes so far (lighter soles/diffused LEDs in heel and in sole/ led bubble mod, outrigger soles, flat laces)

What did you use to diffuse the light?
This translucent white foam that came from a package I had I'm sure you could get this stuff at any post office or shipping store I also used the same material to get the frosted led bubble look

Hi guys, lots of reading on all the posts about nike mags. Ill have my HC´s coming on like a week, I´m from Venezuela, so I have to wait a little more for them to get home... meanwhile I´ve been reading a lot of the Mod´s you are working on and let me say "congrats to all" keep it up, really great and creative stuff here, I will work very slowly on mine since there´s not so much of the materials and we don´t have enough USD´s since we have an exchange rate control and can´t buy many things I would like to make the strap, etc. Nice work everyone, and this is very helpful, thank you for sharing. glasses I´ve been reading your last posts and I would really like to know the process of how you did the outrigger soles, maybe I can start with that, I think that´s a very good mod along with the toe slim, thank you guys...

Got around to doing the toe slim on my HC Mags. Pretty simple and they do look better. One thing I wasn't expecting is that when the mold piece of the toecap hardens up, the wrinkles or ridges formed from heating, does feel weird on your toes - and the shoes probably fit .5 size smaller which is not a bad thing since these run big.

Finally did the cut and glue slim toe I took the toe cap out completely to get the sock toe look from the movie they feel great on the foot

The hooverboard photo looks awesome dude! Really accurate! Hey @glasses I´ve been reading your last posts and I would really like to know the process of how you did the outrigger soles (some photos of that process maybe?), maybe I can start with that, I think that´s a very good mod along with the toe slim, thanks.

thanks man i dont have any photos of the process but all i did was slice the bottom of the shoe at the "seem" line on the led side then spread them aprat and wedged them open with some foam pieces then filled it with some rubberizeed glue its pretty easy and it gives the shoe some more character

Thank you for answering glasses Whenever you can, please post a photo of the sole, to see how it looks glued back and get even a better idea of how it should be done! Great work man, keep it up! Mine should arrive in a week and a half and can´t wait to begin with some mods! Congrats on yours, they look perfect and it helps that they are made with the HC´s, so people will feel more safe at buying those and working on those saving a lot of bucks!
