HalloweenCostumes.com “Back to the Future Hoverboard”

thinking maybe the ue roll speakers might work (has a cross on it) will cut holes if i have to . cheap junk needs music, wheels or something added to it. if they have fake so called "hover boards that light up , move & play music mine should too! by god i demand it! other wise this future sucks & isn't worth living in.

Hi all, need a little help seen this hoverboard for sale and was wondering if it's got the right 3D stuff on it or not? Thank you in advance. :) You_Doodle_Pro_2017-03-20T19_54_53Z.jpg

The speaker inside the matty board is like a 1w 2" cone or something pathetic and it made plenty of noise.

Oh right! You know, I never put batteries in mine so I completely forgot it made noise. I was worried about battery corrosion.

The main noise it made was as annoying. The best part was when you stood the board upright and it made a different noise for shut down. I pulled my batteries simply because the annoying sound happened every time I bumped the thing. I was also concerned about corrosion but never got past the first few days of the noise.

It turns out the top graphic fit perfectly width-wise within the HC sticker grooves. I just needed to add some length by making the Velcro strips a little thicker. The bottom graphic needed to be scaled down, as it didn’t fit within the grooves.

The battery pack and connectors were 3d printed.

Overall, I’m quite pleased with how it’s turned out so far. It’s not entirely screen-accurate, but I was aiming for my own interpretation and took some liberties here and there.

Thank you so much Roland for your incredible work on the graphics. They are much appreciated.

Any links to or name of the lenticular sheets? I've read through the whole thread but can't seem to find anything.

thanks

I'm a bit confused about this myself. In the other thread (Matty Collector) there are those saying that you can buy the lenticular material and then there are those who say it is discontinued.

I had no luck finding any, so found something else that seems to work.

This is anti slip draw liners from Ikea.

The material, yes. But not the correct color.

Got it. Has anyone tried to dye the clear lenticular using Rit Dye? I've watched some YouTube videos that dye clear visors to black for helmets. Might work.

This reminds me - I was on HalloweenCostumes.com last night buying other things and they still have their 20% off coupon if you sign up for their email list. So if anyone is going to pull the trigger on one of these, don't forget to sign up.

Wouldn't you work out the top from bottom of the sheet and spray paint the bottom?

I read about people losing the 3D effect when glueing the sheet to their boards. If you had a based coat, then the glue would not be a problem. You would still want to use a gel glue and not liquid super glue.

20% off comes in handy.
