HalloweenCostumes.com “Back to the Future Hoverboard”

My lenticular from sommers came in! It's super clean no brown tint or whatever it's crystal clear I put it on my crappy hoverboard mock up and a hot pink cap I had that looks to match the hc board a little I also painted light pink on half the cap also the secomd to last image is the lenticular from Roland's hero board graphic just for reference

you guys see this on the halloweencostumes site? it gets a couple of close up shots of the board idk it just seems better built compared to the matty but we never know what they did to make it look good for the video or if it is actually better built and assembled. you can also see that the foot pad is in different positions so it can obviously be turned. the foot pads green seems to be more of a lighter green compared to the mattys darker footpad, the one in the film is lighter so im happy about that. the paint work looks good and the sticker seems to be placed well lets just hope they know how bad matty messed up and they dont repeat the same assembly mistakes.

Is anyone else buying the mod materials before te board ship? I'm going to have my board finished the day it gets to me lol @Vormz I got your package everything looks great thanks so much! Now I have my clear lenticular, pink strap fur, pink and green Velcro, aluminum vinyl for magnets, and Mattel stickers! All I need now is the webbing for the underside of the strap wich is already on it's way in the mail and the actual board! Is anyone else doing a hero board
mod?

Just a convention board for now.

Good luck with this mod.

Does anyone here know if the honeycomb lenticular is available to purchase anywhere other than Sommers? Their postage to Australia is crazy high...

Modulor.de based in Germany has a similar clear lenticular material.
Shipping costs are affordable to Europe so you can give a try

got my webbing in and made my strap, it sucks the boards didn't ship out today like they should have but i cant wait to finish this thing!

So is this just a slimmed down version of the matty board. it almost exactly the same, minus a few details.
Slimmed down? The only differences I've noticed are - footpad is lighter green (which is better in my opinion) missing handlebar hole, missing battery box and holders on bottom, missing Mattel logos. The whole top sticker looks slightly different when you compare the 2 but it looks to be the same dimensions and thickness so I don't know what you mean by "slimmed down"

Hopefully the board is as sturdy as the Matty board that's the only thing I heard people liked about it, that the actual board didn't feel cheap. If so I'm going to have a hero board for under 100 bucks spent. I'll be filming the mod process including an unboxing, tear down, adding lenticular, installing new strap and adding Velcro and decals for anyone who's intrested to see how to mod the board and/or is just curious as to how well built the thing is. I'll also include any links to where I bought any materials or parts including some sellers here on the rpf.

Was anyone else jut charged for the board??? They better be shipping before the 31st if they're already charging me

I got the same email earlier. It better ship soon I hope. This sounds like our cards have been charged. Usually you don't charge a card until it ships.
