Half-Life 2 Civil Protection Costume WIP (Pic Heavy)

Hello everyone.

This is my first time posting on here as well as my first Pepakura project.

For those who do not know what a Civil Protection combine looks like here is a reference picture:

I downloaded this Pep from the 405th forums. I don't remember the name of the user who made it because the topic was deleted shortly after downloading.

For fiber glassing I used a trial kit of the Smooth-Cast® 321 and Fiberglass cloth:

First coat of Resin on the outside and inside of the helmet:

I did a second coat of resin then i started to add the fiberglass cloth on the inside. after that I did some sanding and a quick sketch of the back design:

I added the back pieces and another coat of resin over that, then I decided to cut it in a way so I can put it on like how Barney has it on Ingame.

I've seen some cheap renditions of the CP suit, but no serious builds.... which is why I wanted to do it. Now I gotta find something else.

That's an example of some of the bad ones I've seen.... although that's actually good in comparison.

At least I said it's better than some I've seen.

Actually it is the best I've seen, but..... yeah. It's hard to dis it now that I know it's yours. :wacko

Good job man, that's looking great. Is there any way you could send the pep file to any of us who didn't get chance to download it from 405th before the topic was deleted?

i'd personally take some sand paper or a sanding block to the white facemask area and round out all those sharp polygon edges, it looks too much like a computer graphic right now.

the big is looking mighty spiffy however

thanks kommissar i've managed to updated them they look much better now still working on them tho, just hard to do with this british winter coming in ¬¬
