GUNSMOKE

I grew up watching the long running TV series GUNSMOKE. I finally got around to starting a little display in my TV room but it is a work in progress. I need to weather the pistol and create a stag horn effect on the grips. The badge is based on a bunch of screencaps and publicity photos. I'm pretty happy with it.

Any other GUNSMOKE fans here?

Was able to have the grips recast and then stippled and colored for the stag horn effect.

Awesome display. Love the badge and stand for the gun. Used to watch Gunsmoke reruns when I was a kid. Dumb question, but is that colt the real deal?

Wow, eltee! Magnificent "shrine" to one of - if not the best - TV westerns ever! Where did you get that box the ammo would have come in? It's very period and I would love to get one or two to put in my Old West/Pioneer decor dining room.

Thanks to both of you! (At least the Marshal's Office sign confirms my guess at the lettering color; it was a dark green... and not always well-lit when shown on screen.)

I do wonder what ever happened to the original Long Branch Saloon sign. The one used in "Gunsmoke: Return To Dodge" was a replica and painted in a different color scheme. Granted that telemovie was filmed/aired 12 years after 'Gunsmoke' ended its run, so the original may not have survived. Or it could still be languishing in storage just waiting to be found (like the Galileo 7 mock-up from the original 'Trek' series, or the starfighter from the 1979-80 'Buck Rogers in the 25th Century' series, or even the full-scale Jupiter 2 mock-up from the original Irwin Allen 'Lost In Space' series... all waiting until someone finally found them and set about restoring them).

Maybe Miss Kitty's saloon's sign is still waiting to be found, and if it ever is, hopefully will be in as good a shape as that Marshal's Office sign!

And now it's off to Etsy for me!
