If anything it's a tell so nobody can sell these on eBay. But the tape varies a lot. Sometimes it looks like mine:

But the scan of the tape is from this:

I had to cut parts of it and rebuild it and replicate the 1. It turned out good enough.

Just made them for fun, so I'd have no clue. Sticky back paper should work.

That's cool work, I might have a go myself as I still have some cassettes I could stick them on and record the album onto it

If you want to make it really special get you some TDK CDing 90 tapes. Those are what you see on that album cover.
