Re: Guardians of the Galaxy : Starlord Gravity Mine & Infinity Orb
Actually, I do
If you guys have been following my other HIC panel thread, last update was me taking some time off because of a double spinal disc herniation! The worst of it is now behind and I'm back being able to walk around and not staying stuck in bed .. so that's good.
So I had received my vaccuum chamber which I played around with and it's really a nice little piece of tech! I experimented on resin, and now, I'm ready to finally redo my gravity mine molds. Plus I'm FINALLY doing the greeblies mold too which I had put on hold because of the nature of the parts that is so small, I would never be able to pull it out with a pressure pot and a vac chamber.
So here's some pics
And more pics of he kits from the first mold. As I said, I'm selling them for 95$ as I'm not satisfied with how they came out! I know I can do much better, but since I have molds for it, might as well use them and I know people here will still have fun building the kit! Sanding and putty never killed anyone before!
Here's the flaws on these parts...
1. when I molded them, the silicone left bubbles in the cavity corners of the master .. so that leaves small bubbles to clean.
2. the seam line is not as small as it should be, but again, very easily removable, even with your nail and a knife / sanding paper.
3. the holes to plug in the rods between the hinges will need to be drilled cleaner. Again, silicone left bubbles in there, and there's some resin crap in there. The hole is there, but will need some cleanup.
The next molds will be made from degased silicone and then pressure cast. From now on, I only expect perfect molds and copy coming out of my shop!
As soon as the greeblies mold is done, then these kits already cast will go out to the people in line.

I'll take one of the $95 kits.
Your're on the list Kev!
